In this book, certain names appear in their original Hebrew:
YAHWEH (YHWH) for LORD
Elohim for God
Adonai for Lord
Yeshua for Jesus
Mashiach for Christ (Messiah from Greek/English Language).
Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit)
This is not to oppose the modern names of our Lord Jesus Christ (e.g.), which I also use in preaching, but to remind us of the covenant linking us to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Also, a book may reach even the Land of Israel, and it is my hope that Jewish readers may sense familiarity and kinship through these names.
As Paul teaches in Romans 11 (once wild branches, have been grafted into the root that sustains Israel), we are called to walk in humility and compassion. We, the Church, are the Spiritual Israel (Galatians 6:16). If we long for the final great revival, we must renew our covenant with Physical Israel, for in this unity lies the foundation for the dwelling of Elohim’s glory in these last days.
In this work, the name “satan” (so called also lucifer) and his titles remain lowercase to emphasize, not only also their fallen and subordinate nature, but also because of their origin, not as proper names but as common names (the satan, the lucifer). *Check in the appendices, the real origin of these common names.
